Laubach Tutor Training is a structured program designed to prepare instructors or volunteer tutors to effectively teach reading, writing, and basic literacy skills to adult learners using learner-centred, one-on-one or small group instruction. Grounded in the philosophy of mutual respect and individualized learning, the training equips tutors with practical strategies, while also fostering sensitivity to the diverse needs and experiences of adult learners. This approach ensures that new tutors are confident, well-supported, and ready to help learners achieve their personal literacy goals.

There are four sections to the training:
Section #1: An Overview of Laubach
Section #2: The Adult Learner
Section #3: Tutoring Strategies, Techniques and Resources
Section #4: The OALCF, Lesson Planning and Assessment

Each section currently has one course. As we develop the training more fully, courses may be expanded and more courses may be added.

If you are working an agency and have been asked to complete the training, check the "Tutor Training - Agency Specific Information" section and see if you have an intro course for your agency to complete. Note: not all agencies have an intro course.
